NSF Potable Water Tank
Galvanised water tank interior sealed with blue NSF Polyurea
- Date: Dec 2019
- Client: Private Client
- Project Type: NSF (Blue) Polyurea
About this Project
The interior of this small galvanized water tank of approximately 2000 gallons had a high buildup of spot rusting that was threatening both the structural integrity of the tank and the quality of the potable water being stored.
Since this tank was in continuous use a secondary storage system was put in place before we started our works the water was drained from the tank, and then mechanically removed the heavy buildup of spot rusting with heavy duty steel rope brushes.
The surfaces wiped down with acetone, all suspected areas of concerned and corners/joints etc. were caulked with an epoxy-based primer.
We then applied a (blue) NSF certified polyurea using a spray gun, paying particular attention to the various nuts, bolts, and joints. Due only to space restrictions, the job was completed in approximately three days.
