About this Project
We actually started this project in December 2018 with the first of 3 roofs that were experiencing problems with leaking into the interior of this private house in the “country”, St George, Barbados.
Once we had demonstrated a success story on the middle roof, we returned to complete the job and finish the south and north roofs, with the same approach.
Exposing the Problems and Fissures in the Roof
Once the failing torch on was stripped and the concrete slabs were ground, we could better see and assess the damage, and where the leaks were likely to occur.
There were several large cracks in the concrete and noticeable cracking round all the penetrations. These were all sealed before applying an epoxy primer and then the Sikalastic seamless silicone membrane.
