Rockley Town House
Tenanted Rental was Leaking in Several Areas
- Date: November 2018
- Client: Residential Rental
- Project Type: Sika & Uniflex
About this Project
The tenant of this Rockley Town House reported several leaks to the owner, who having previously used our services on another property, called and immediately retained us to perform the repairs. The leaks were being experienced in the interior of the house, over the stairs and in the outdoor gallery.
The concrete roof over the main body of the property was covered in old torch on and this had to be stripped and the surface ground to remove contaminants that would otherwise adversely affect adhesion of the new roofing system.
Once the concrete roof was ground, seals were applied to the plinths and connections, and all risk areas.
The seams around the shingles and window areas were also addressed and generally tidied up.
Two Different Approaches to Suit the Project Needs
The torch on over the wooden roof was found to be still viable and not worth removing, and the most suitable approach to ensure that it continued to withstand the weather, was to cover it with a coat of Uniflex Silicone.
The concrete roof was covered in a first coat of epoxy and then in the tan Sikalastic 500 system.
