Food & Beverage Store Room
Insulation to maximise Air Conditioning efficiency
- Date: Jan 2020
- Client: Maxwell Hotel
- Project Type: 100′ Cool Room
About this Project
This hotel required an external storage area, for their food and beverage so they built a 100 foot shed adjacent to the main building.

The structure was separated into 6 air conditioned compartments to include a fridge/freezer section, followed by compartments for produce and dry goods, wine and liquor, an area to manage receiving and purchasing plus a super cooled room for pastry making.
However, the frame for the 100′ length shed frame was constructed using wood joists and permaclad galvanised steel, so this rough structure was essentially a hot tin oven in the tropical heat of Barbados.
AquaLoc applied a 2″ thick coating of our Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF), and now it is insulated to a value of R14.
